Real Wedding: Ellie & Pete

I hope you enjoy this beautiful throwback ranch wedding in Park City, Utah from fall 2010. The fall colors from the small town in the Wasatch Mountain range provide the perfect backdrop for this outdoor affair. The DIY details are also a great personal touch. Gorgeous photos bySarah Yates.
The mix of lighting styles is really pretty and adds a rustic element with the vintage lanterns.
Using the horse shoe for the table number really ties in the ranch feel.
This is a beautiful and simple cake, with the flowers mimicking the fall colors of the area.
I love these take-home bags! S'mores made easy.

DIY: Rolled Rosettes

I've seen a lot of cute hair accessories around campus lately, so here's a super easy tutorial on how to make rolled rosettes from Happy Together. This project is great for using up any leftover fabric scraps you have laying around.
These rosettes are great for embellishing clothing, creating jewelry and accessories, and as decorations.

Let's Party!

Sorry for not posting yesterday, I had a hectic traveling day!

After spending some much needed time in the sun this weekend at home, I can't wait for nice weather at school! Next time the weather is nice, I think it would be so much fun to plan an outdoor dinner party with a tapas-inspired menu.
I love the tapas style of plating because it's the perfect way to sample a little bit of everything. Here are some of the recipes I've been hanging onto to try:

One Week!

The countdown has begun: One week until the Royal Wedding!!!

I'm beyond excited not only because it's a wedding, but because I love Kate Middleton! She is an amazing individual, is marrying a prince, is beautiful, and has great style. She's my style icon, and knowing her, the wedding is going to be super stylish and chic. I can't wait to see the dress, shoes, hair, makeup, bridesmaid's dresses...etc. You get the picture.

Here are some of my favorite classic Kate looks. I wish I could steal her closet!

How cute is this?

Happy Friday!

DIY: Braided Hex Nut Bracelet

I'm flying home to California tomorrow to spend the weekend in Sea Ranch with my family. I absolutely LOVE Sea Ranch! My family has a house there and we go as frequently as possible, but it's a small town in a mostly rural-coastal area, so I have a lot of free time for craft projects! I found this super cute How-To on Pinterst and I'm planning on making it over the weekend! I'll let you know how it turns out!
As my roommate likes to point out, I have a "craft corner" in my room, and I'm always looking for new, fun DIY projects to do, so feel free to send some my way!
If anyone's interested, maybe I'll use this as a giveaway item once I get more followers!

What I Love Wednesday!

I love...twinkling string lights!
Indoor or outdoor this look is great! String lights add versatility to any space and create a softer environment than most artificial ones.
Outside it feels like being under a blanket of twinkling stars.
A little bit of color mixed in is a playful and chic variation of string lights decorations!
I love this picture!
Next Friday is my last Pi Phi dance in college (scary!), so we're going all out for Barn Dance! My friends are having a small get-together before the dance, so I'm going to style the house for the occasion as a thank you. It's a cute little place with a nice yard with grass, trees and a white picket fence. I'm thinking lights strung in the trees, hanging mason jars with candles and flowers, a table for games, a vintage metal bucket with ice for drinks, maybe a wheelbarrow, some old spare wheels, hay bales, and definitely country music!
Keep an eye out in the coming weeks for pictures!

Real Wedding: Lauren & Joe

I love this fun, vintage-inspired wedding that was styled and designed by the bride. This wedding is a great example of an eco-chic event that used as many recycled, re-usable and DIY items as possible for decor. Overall it has a carnival-country farm feel that I think it absolutely gorgeous!
Such a cute idea!
Doesn't this remind you of an old movie?
I don't usually like long tables, but this is great use of space!
(The bride spent about a year collecting recycled bottles for the table decorations)
Love the lawn games

Happy Monday

This past weekend was Mom's Weekend for my sorority. The weekend was full of fun events for the moms and daughters to attend, but my favorite was the 31 Bits of Jewelry party on Friday, planned and styled by my friend Anna.
31 Bits Design is a development organization that provides women in Northern Uganda with an opportunity to counter poverty and provide homes, food and income for their families. These women hand-make jewelry using 100% recycled paper and other local materials to be sold on the international market.
This is what my mama bought.
I liked how Anna styled the room using existing pieces and some personal touches. Must keep in mind for the future!

Welcome to Inspired!

Hello!

For my first post I just wanted to introduce myself, and what I hope to accomplish with this blog. After I graduate in June I plan to pursue a career in wedding and event design and coordination. I have known since 8th grade that I wanted a career in event planning, and a few years ago it dawned on me to combine my love for all things wedding related and my passion for event planning.

Here I will share my inspirations, ideas, real weddings, and tips with other wedding and event coordinators, brides and wedding enthusiasts. As a public relations student I will also try to incorporate PR strategies and tactics that are beneficial to the planning process.

Thanks for checking out my blog. I hope you enjoy!
